Welcome to Kilifi Sailing Week 2024

The event will be held from the 21st to the 27th July and will be hosted by Kilifi Boatyard, 3 Degrees South and sponsored by Tropical Power, Transtrek Safaris, Tamuwa, KPMG, J.W.Seagon, Silver Palm Resort & 3 Degrees South, so a huge thanks to all those for their effort, support and organisation. This year we plan to repeat the excellent Fireball party and end of regatta Laser party at Mnarani Hotel. We actively encourage friends and family members to join us at the Boatyard each day and at both evening parties.

East African Fireball Championship

The first event starting on Sunday 21st July will be the East African Fireball Championships, three days of racing in Kilifi Bowl. This is the 56th Annual Championship! Last year we had ten boats on the water and this year hope for at least the same number. If you are interested in coming from abroad, please contact the Race Committee.​

Kenya Laser National Championship

Thursday 25th to Saturday 27th of July will be the Kenya Laser Championships, which will be held at The Boatyard, with racing in Kilifi Bowl. There were 34 boats on the water last year, with entries from Kilifi, Naivasha, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Kampala and the UK. Let’s aim for even more this year! Ideally bring your own boat but there maybe a few to hire, if you need a boat, please contact the Race Committee.

Kenya Optimist Championship

Organised by 3 Degrees South, there will also be a day of Optimist racing in the Creek on Wednesday 24th July for our younger budding sailors. Please contact Jo Staff for more details.
