Entry is open to all Laser rigs: Standard, Radial & 4.7
SCHEDULE:
RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing
1.2 The most recent International Laser Class Rules will apply.
1.3 Any changes to The Racing Rules of Sailing and the International Laser Class Rules will appear in full in the sailing instructions.
2 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
2.1 The regatta is open to Laser Standard, Laser Radial and Laser 4.7s.
2.2 Entry form is online and should be completed by 15th July.
3 FEES
3.1 Entry fees will be 9,000KES for adults and 4,500KES for cadets (under 18 at time of regatta).
4 MEASUREMENTS
4.1 Non-standard laser sails will be accepted subject to approval by the Race Committee.
5 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
5.1 Sailing Instructions will be available on the day.
6 THE COURSES
6.1 The courses will be set by the OOD and will be available on the notice board at the Boatyard.
6.2 The target mid fleet time for each race will be 40 minutes.
7 SCORING
7.1 A minimum of 2 races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
7.2 At the OODs discretion up to 12 races will be sailed.
7.3 Race times for Radials and 4.7s will be adjusted by application of the current Portsmouth numbers.
7.4 When 4 or more races are completed one discard will apply, at 8 races 2 discards.
8 PRIZES
8.1 There will be Prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall, and 1st place in each of the following categories: Ladies, Radial, 4.7, Cadet (under 18), Master (45 and above), Grand Master (55 and above), Great Grand Master (65 and above). Other prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the race committee.
9 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
9.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. The organising authority (Kenya Laser Association) and staff not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. All competitors must sign the disclaimer during registration.
